USPA NEWS -
After having received the citizen collective "Rats le bol Paris" launched by residents of the 17th, Geoffroy Boulard, the mayor of the district decided to act. A platform for the real-time reporting of the presence of rats on the public space is thus launched today by the 17th City Council in parallel with a dedicated phone number that can be reached from Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm. This is a subject well known by the Mayor of the 17th arrondissement. A public meeting on the subject - a first in Paris - was organized last October at the town hall.

Geoffroy Boulard also spoke at the Paris Council last March to defend a wish that the Mayor of Paris authorize borough mayors to experiment with innovative techniques in deratting, in conjunction with the dedicated services of the City. A wish rejected by the Parisian executive. A flyer reminding good practices to adopt to prevent the proliferation of rodents had also been broadcast in the borough. Nevertheless, rats are multiplying, their reports too ... This poster campaign will therefore be deployed again today in parks and gardens in particular. The site http://signalerunrat.paris is an innovative tool that allows to report in real time the presence of rats (alive or dead on the public space).--------------------------------------------------------------
Upon receipt of the report, the City Council of the 17th arrondissement undertakes to transmit the information to the central services of the City of Paris and update the mobile site to inform residents on the planned actions. A dedicated line has also been created: 00 33 (0) 1 44 69 17 86.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Town Hall of the 17th will establish a first quantified assessment at the end of the week.----------------------------------------
