USPA NEWS - The new United States ambassador to Spain, Julissa Reynoso, presented her Credentials to King Felipe VI on Wednesday along with the ambassadors of five other countries. The traditional act was held at the Royal Palace in Madrid.
King Felipe VI received the Credentials of the accredited ambassadors representing Ireland, Cuba, India, the Republic of San Marino and Trinidad and Tobago, in addition to the new head of US diplomacy in Spain, Julissa Reynoso. The new ambassador was received by the King of Spain at the Royal Palace in Madrid, where she arrived accompanied by the new advisers from the diplomatic legation, who were also introduced to the monarch.
After the presentation of the Letters of Credence, the new United States ambassador to Spain spoke for a few minutes with King Felipe VI in private, to whom she explained the projects that she plans to launch at the Embassy, ??all of them aimed at strengthening relations between the two countries. Ambassador Reynoso, with extensive experience in social work, stated after her arrival in Spain that she wants to travel to the seventeen Spanish regions and talk to people to make them aware of the work of the Embassy and learn about the concerns of the Spanish people.
Letters of Credence are the document that certifies a foreign ambassador as the representative and highest diplomatic authority of another country in Spain. The delivery ceremony before the Head of State dates back to the 18th century, and has remained practically intact in its development until today.
